Terms and conditions of sale
Last updated: 16 September 2026.
1. Purpose and acceptance
These terms govern the sale, by « À COMPLÉTER » (identité), of the majlis set shown on this site to any person acting outside their trade or profession. They are accepted by ticking the box provided before payment; that acceptance is timestamped and kept with the order.
The French and English versions say the same thing. Should they be read differently, the French version prevails.
2. The product
A single product is sold: the majlis set, made of a 200 × 300 cm rug and four seats, hand-woven. As every piece is woven by hand, slight variations in size, shade and pattern are inherent to the product and are not a lack of conformity.
Textile composition: « À COMPLÉTER » (Q-15). The composition labelling will be shown here and on the product label before the shop opens.
3. Price
- Majlis set, delivery to a pickup point included: €599.
- Home delivery: €30 extra, i.e. €629 in total.
VAT status: TVA non applicable, art. 293 B du CGI — shown only once the French small-business VAT exemption is confirmed (Q-2). In every case, the displayed price is the full amount due: it includes customs duties, import taxes and clearance fees (DDP delivery). You have nothing to pay on delivery.
The price that applies is the one displayed when you order. It is frozen on the order: a later change to the price shown on the site has no effect on an order already placed.
4. Ordering
The set is made as a single piece: only one order can be in progress at a time. Your details are entered on the “Your details” screen, then payment is shown. The order is only firm once your card has been authorised and the workshop has confirmed it, as described below.
A confirmation e-mail is sent at each step, in the language of your order, to the address you gave. If anything goes wrong, write to contact@daralmajlis.com.
5. Payment
Payment is made by card, through our provider Stripe. No card data passes through or is stored on our servers. Your bank may ask for strong authentication (3-D Secure).
When you order, the amount is authorised on your card: it is held, not taken. The workshop then checks that it can honour the order and confirms it within 7 days. Your card is charged at that confirmation, and not before, and the invoice is sent to you then.
If the workshop cannot honour the order, the authorisation is released and nothing is charged. If the charge fails at confirmation, we send you a link to pay again; it stays valid for 48 hours, after which the order expires and the authorisation is released.
6. Delivery
- Countries we ship to: France.
- Workshop confirmation lead time: within 7 days.
- Delivery lead time announced after confirmation: 1 to 2 weeks.
- Pickup point delivery: included in the price. Home delivery: €30.
Delivery is DDP (Delivered Duty Paid): customs duties, import taxes and clearance fees are paid by the seller. You have nothing to pay to the carrier or on delivery.
Lead times are given in working days and run from the workshop’s confirmation. If delivery is late, you may write to us to set a reasonable additional period and then, failing performance, terminate the sale under articles L216-2 and L216-6 of the French consumer code.
Risk passes when the parcel is handed to you, or to the third party you designated.
7. Right of withdrawal
You have 14 days from receiving the set to withdraw, without giving any reason and without penalty.
How to withdraw
The “Returns” button at the bottom of every page opens the online withdrawal feature: it is free, available throughout the withdrawal period, and sends you a timestamped acknowledgement. You may also send us any unambiguous statement, by e-mail for instance, using if you wish the model form reproduced below.
Model withdrawal form
To « À COMPLÉTER » (identité) — contact@daralmajlis.com
I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract of sale of the following majlis set:
Ordered on: … / Received on: …
Order number: DM-…
Name and address of the consumer: …
Date: … (and signature if notified on paper)
Before dispatch
As long as the set has not been dispatched, withdrawing cancels the order at no cost: the authorisation is released or the amount refunded in full, and there is nothing to send back.
After dispatch: cost of the return
The set is bulky and cannot be returned by ordinary post. The cost of returning it to the workshop is yours to bear and is estimated at €0. That amount is repeated to you when you ask to return the set, together with the collection instructions.
We refund the price of the set and the initial delivery cost at the standard rate, that is, pickup point delivery. If you chose home delivery, the €30 supplement is not refunded: the law only puts the standard delivery method at our charge.
The refund is made no later than 14 days after we recover the set or, if earlier, after you prove you sent it back. You may be liable for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature and characteristics of the set: any deduction is then explained to you with its reason.
8. Legal guarantees
Regardless of any commercial warranty, we remain liable for lack of conformity of the set and for hidden defects, as set out below.
- Legal guarantee of conformity (articles L217-3 et seq. of the French consumer code): you have 2 years from delivery to act; for 24 months, any defect that appears is presumed to have existed on the day of delivery. You choose between repair and replacement, and may obtain a price reduction or termination of the sale in the cases the law provides.
- Guarantee against hidden defects (articles 1641 et seq. of the French civil code): you have 2 years from discovering the defect to act, and may return the set against a refund of the price, or keep it and recover part of the price.
To rely on either guarantee, write to contact@daralmajlis.com describing the defect; return costs incurred on that basis are ours to bear.
9. Complaints and consumer ombudsman
Any complaint must first be sent to us in writing, at contact@daralmajlis.com. We acknowledge it and answer as soon as we can.
If our answer does not satisfy you, or if we have not answered within two months, you may use a consumer ombudsman free of charge, under article L612-1 of the French consumer code. The referral must be made within one year of your written complaint.

The European online dispute resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025: it is no longer a remedy, and no link on this site points to it. The ombudsman above replaces it entirely.
10. Personal data
What we collect for the order, how long we keep it and what your rights are is set out in the privacy policy, reachable from the bottom of every page. This site sets no non-exempt tracker.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. You keep the benefit of the mandatory provisions of the European Union country where you live, and you may bring proceedings, at your choice, before the court of the place where you lived when the contract was concluded.
